Skylum makes promises again that they are software with different approaches, but there is no real evidence of this. But not buying double software, but buying the license of the new version and forgetting the past. Skylum Neo will have the same tasteless “if you have the previous version do not update because they are almost the same.” Maybe if it’s a jump from 3 to Neo, the change is worth it. But from the features, what we see is that the Luminar Neo is Luminar 6, and that paying that extra $ 60 for extra software is a waste of money. His combo brings Luminar AI and Neo in a $ 136 bundle. This bitter taste is something that Skylum repeats with Neo. But Skylum repeats the strategy, introduces new software, says that both software do different things, but what you see is that it will be more of the same with a couple of new tools that are not worth spending money. We feel cheated and that generates mistrust. I can do everything Luminar AI does, 10 times better, with ACR-Photoshop and Tony Kuyper's TK7 panels. Follow Show all Sort by newest post Discover the new Luminar 4.3. The main AI modules for regular processing (that is, those not under the 'Creative' tab) are Enhance and Structure, neither of which offers fine control or anything especially remarkable. Ask questions, share your feedback, report bugs, discuss workflows and much more. The general sentiment when buying Skylum AI was disappointment at the abandonment of Luminar 4, when the company had been emphatic in supporting and growing both versions. Luminar for Windows New post This section is dedicated to Luminar software for Windows OS. The idea was to get a win win, but it turned out to be a way to charge more for the product. Skylum promised to bring more tools to old software while feeding new features to new software. Thousands of people purchased the combo, as reflected in the number of users who participated in the platform’s forum. Users expected a new software that turned out to be like Luminar 4 with a new interface (that is, Luminar 5). This is because Skylum submitted AI like new software that distanced itself from normal Luminar. When Luminar AI hit the market, Skylum generated a lot of controversy among users by selling Luminar AI and Luminar 4 as a combo.

However, Luminar’s strategy fails when it comes to the promises it makes to its users. Per se, Luminar Neo seems like the next natural software step and it is clear that what makes this profitable is to re-sell a product. It is not yet clear how all these tools will work, but once the trial period is available, we will show the results and their flow. Its a nice unique bit of software when it works but the crashing is so frustrating.Inside the new tools will have masks and layers, a brush to remove cables from the stage, a tool to remove dust from the shot, a replacement of backgrounds and an eye-catching system to re-illuminate a photograph.

If I had other issues I may have tried a fresh windows installation but that’s a lot of work for only having an issue with one piece of software. I’ve also noticed that when I uninstalled and reinstalled, it kept the ‘old’ preferences so I’m guessing the uninstall does not actually remove everything. If I go to S_ZapFrom (or SZapTo) and then to S_Zap, it works 5 times out of 5. If I open a 16M JPG file and go straight to S_Zap, 4 times out of 5 it crashes. Initially it seemed like random crashing with Sapphire effects but in fact I think it is mainly S_Zap. reducing card output from 4k to HD, removing the anti-virus software, uninstalling optics and reinstalling, downloading the installation kit again and re-installing (lost the trial but it still fails in demo mode), carried out memory checks and load checks on my system and it passes, carried out DISM/SFC on Windows 10 (no issues). I’ve tried GPU Enabled/Disabled, 1K preview, various scaling/downsampling settings. I’ve no issue with any other program (Lightroom, photoshop elements, Luminar AI, Topaz Sharpen, Denoise, Vegas…) My machine is a i7-5820K, overclocked by 20% (no issues, CPU temp <65 under load), 32GB Ram, GTX970 card, up to date drivers and windows 10. I’ve raised a ticket but unfortunately I’m no futher forward.

I’ve been trying for over a week with a trial of Optics but it just keeps crashing on my machine with a exception code 0xc0000005 in the event log.
